bridges.org has a case studies on Busy Internet.

BusyInternet (BI) Accra is the largest technology incubator in Africa. It provides businesses and the public with affordable, state-of-the-art information and communication technology (ICT) services, customer service, and a social environment that promotes technology use.
The fun part for me is that I was in Accra while Busy Internet got started, and actually helped Mark and Alex with some minor technical issues in the months before they were set to open. The project is way high on my cool approach to development, mostly because it is NOT reliant on traditional development revenue, yet still manages to be an important asset to the development of a Ghanaian IT sector. GeekCorps also uses the excellent settings (I haven’t actually seen them after opening) to give free ICT classes with their in-.country volunteers.

Bia D.
