So i got my Palm Tungsten C last week after long deliberationson whether to get a Sharp Zaurus or the Palm. SO Far so good.
I think Palms great disadvantge wheb compared to a pocket pc or linux based handheld is that the OS is rather limited. There’s no flesystem, and no multitasking, meaning if there isn’t already a palm app out there that does what you want it to, you’re pretty much stumped unless you feel like coding your own. Nu scripting, perl hacking etc.
On the other hand that’s also Palms great advantage. This palm is so simple to use for the basic functionality it’s a delight. And combine that with a massive developer base abd ikve pretty much found all the apps i’ve dreamed of fo my new palm.
There’s an ssh client, a decent web browser, the blog tool that i’m posting this with, great IMAP email clients, a wardriving tool that shows me all wireless networks etc. Etc.
What are you using for the ssh client? I just ordered the Tungsten C and I’m really looking forward to being able to remote administer my server(s) from any hotspot!
Remove the “dot” from my address for email.
Thanks,
Jim
There are basically 2 ssh clients I found, Mocha Telnet from Mochasoft (http://www.mochasoft.dk/palm.html), is a 25$ piece of software and is pretty stable and feature-risch, but is NOT made for high-res devices, which means a lot of left-right scrolling in actual use.
TuSSH (short for Tungsten SSH) is a simple, but high-res and FREE ssh client. So far it is ssh 1 only (but the author is working on support for ssh2). It’s currently in version 0.55 but progress is really fast, so I have high hopes for it.
check it out here: (http://staff.deltatee.com/~angusa/TuSSH.html)
Hope that helps

check out pssh, it supports ssh version 2 and seems to work well.
