The Java Applet based streaming technology is currently marketed mostly as a surveillance tool, but other, and less invasive uses spring to mind.<\/p>\n<div class=\"item\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Stream On<\/strong> &#8211; At the current <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/quicktimelive\/\">Quicktime Live!<\/a> conference in SF, a consortium consisting of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ericsson.com\/\">Ericsson<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.com\/\">Sun Microsystems<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/\">Apple<\/a> presented their view of the future of streaming. A new standard dubbed the &#8220;Ericsson Content Delivery Solution&#8221;, sets out to allow Content Providers to develop their media in Quicktime format, and have them automagically made presentable on mobile devices and handhelds.
