They seem to have &#8216;gotten&#8217; it, and realize that WLAN is inescapable as a wireless networking technology, and will compete significantly with 3G services, in many areas. The logical move: Own the WLAN market,  integrate it with 3G, provide real roaming, and provide the best possible coverage in any given spot.<\/p>\n<p>Of course I&#8217;d rather have free WLAN access, than have to pay for it, but given a reasonable price, many users will probably prefer the (imagined?) security and support of a managed network, to the slight chaos and inconveinience of a community network.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s make sure we all have a choice though&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to this: Europemedia.net: News &#8211; Comptel and Sonera sign WLAN deal, both Sonera (now Telia-Sonera) and Telenor Mobil, are both working with partners to integrate mediation and accounting accross 3G and WLAN networks.
