Thanks to Alan Reiter<\/a>, for taking up some of the slack caused by my going on vacation. I didn’t expect any really relevant wireless announcements for the scandinavian market as this is traditionally a dead month here in Denmark. <\/p>\n In the meantime TDC Mobile<\/a> has added some details to earlier announcements<\/a> that would be offering commercial WLAN serivces in Denmark by uyears end. Hopefully I’ll have more on this when I reach the right person at TDC.<\/p>\n
\nIn cooperation with Ericsson<\/a> and using Ericssons WLAN Operator<\/a> offering they will enable roaming between GPRS networks and WLAN networks for laptop and handheld users with the required data access hardware. Authentication will be SIM-card based and the billing will (they claim) integrate with existing mobile billing systems.<\/p>\n
