Last year was dissappointing, but then I didn&#8217;t actually pay, opting instead to help  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commonme.dk\">Thomas<\/a> set up a wireless network at the event. <\/p>\n<p>However this years event includes people I know, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/craphound.com\">Cory Doctorow<\/a> (I met him last year at Dinner with my friend <a href=\"http:\/\/rheingold.com\/\">Howard Rheingold<\/a>), <a href=\"http:\/\/hammersley.com\">Ben Hammersley<\/a> (on-line acquaintance and almost visitor to our March 2003 wireless networking conference). Also I want a chance to meet up with <a href=\"http:\/\/tim.oreilly.com\">Tim O&#8217;Reilly<\/a>, who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geekcorps.org\/default.asp?l1i=1&#038;l2i=4&#038;l3i=14#14\">Ethan<\/a> has introduced me to (via e-mail), and who has some really valuable opinions and projects on Digital Divide issues.<\/p>\n<p>So even though our idealistic little (involuntary) non-profit start-up can&#8217;t really afford the extravaganza of conference visits, I think it&#8217;ll probably be worthwhile, and I actually do believe in paying a reasonable price for good value events and items (software included \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve finally decided to go to this years Reboot conference.
